The Getting Ready for Life After High School Guides began in the early 70’s and were produced and developed by the San Mateo County Office of Education. 
In 1997, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) began main- taining the Guides. To date, an estimated 4.5 million Guides have been distributed to districts, schools and deserving students. Today, Educate California has adapted and maintains the Guides to empower parents / families to be informed and actively involved in their children’s education through our LifePrep Academy workshops and technology based programs.
